Blue Chair
Hefty Metal Chair
Preferences of our school’s chairs vary among students and staff. The classic blue plastic chairs are favored by fourth grader Estelle Rosenbarger who says, “I like them because they’re light and easy to move around.” But 7th grader Allie Bourff doesn’t like them because they’re so heavy and break easily.
The hefty metal chairs are also a mixed bag. “Whenever I scoot back, it’s so loud and interrupts the class,” says Estelle. The most used chairs are the lunch table chairs, which are small and backless but disliked by many. However, the chairs in Mrs. Hall’s and Mrs. Reed’s rooms are popular due to their practical design. “I was going for function,” says Mrs. Hall. The Media Center chairs are appreciated for being lightweight with backs but , “They’re low to the ground and you can’t push all of them in because they’re so big,” complained Estelle. Mr. McMichael's room has large wooden chairs, which Allie dislikes because, “they’re heavy and hard to move.”
