Exciting Times Ahead for 8th Graders

Mavis Cropp and Eliza Smiley

With the end of the school year approaching, our 8th graders have finalized their high school destination. There are so many choices available in Indy, and 84 graduates will be spread out between 11 schools! According to our survey of 49 8th graders, 45% are going to private schools, with Brebeuf Jesuit being the most common private school choice. North Central High School was the most popular choice overall, with 15 8th graders headed there.

“I'm very excited! I can't wait to meet new people and learn more things,” says Quinn Valentine. Amira Harrel’s advice to all incoming 8th graders is, “Be more organized with your homework and community project. Try to balance your outside life with your school life.”

The 8th graders have mixed feeling about heading off to high school and leaving 84, but most are anticipating their newfound freedom and fun times ahead!

Good luck to all of our 8th graders!
