Let it Snow!

By Adeline Duncan and Claire Becher

As soon as it snows, there’s one thought on almost every kid’s mind… snow day? However, snow days have greatly evolved over the last couple years. Up until the pandemic, if there was too much snow or it was too cold, there would either be a delay or a day off of school that would be made up at a later date. After the Covid shutdown, a snow day now means e-learning. There are benefits and drawbacks to this new form of snow day. One good thing is that we no longer have to make up the day of school. When asked if he likes the e-learning work, second grader Lou said, “Kinda, because you’re at home.” When asked if he prefers the old or current version of snow days, eighth grader Cohen said “ the past, even though I had to make it up at the end of the year. It was awesome because we had no school and it was just a free day.” What do you prefer?
