Musical

By Alice Christie and Claire Becher

It won’t be long now, I guarantee! Shrek Jr, starring Ian Miller as Shrek, Zac Nagy as Donkey, and Lexi Humphreys as Fiona, is coming up! Ian says, “I’m really excited to perform in front of everybody and show off our hard work. It’s also sad because it will be the last time with all the MYP people.” The cast of the show has been working hard since October, and they’re excited for you to see the show. Miss Byrd, the director, says, “I think this show is very funny. It has a lot of potty-humor that the young kids might find hilarious. It’s an upbeat show that has characters that you might already know, and very talented kids.” The show is Saturday, April 27th at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m, and features songs like “Freak Flag,” “ What's Up, Duloc?,” and “I’m a Believer.” There’s also a wide range of costumes and characters, featuring anything from pigs and wolves to ogres and princesses. Buy your tickets now to see this amusing show!

Interview Lexi and Ian

Mrs. Byrd

  1. What song is your favorite from Shrek?

“Freak Flag”

  1. What are you most excited about?

It’s like a bittersweet time because it’s my last time, not only with the current eighth graders, but with the fifth through eighth graders. I’ve spent a lot of time with all those grades, and it’s exciting to see them perform.”

  1. Favorite show ever done?

Shrek is up there obviously, because I’ve done it twice, because it has so many parts for so many people.

I think this show is very funny, it has a lot of potty-humor that the young kids might find hilarious (and the old people). It’s an upbeat show that has characters that you might already know, and very talented kids.
