Restaurant Review - Byrne’s Grilled Pizza

For this month’s Restaurant Review, we decided to try Byrne’s Grilled Pizza in Butler-Tarkington. As soon as we entered, the place felt family-friendly and we were greeted and seated right away.

Byrne’s pizzas are cooked on a fire grill and thin crusted, which tastes better in my opinion. It offers a variety of items, including salads, sandwiches and gluten free & vegan options. It’s more than “a pizza place.”

We tried three pizzas. The “Hey Zeus” had so much flavor that it was a little overwhelming. The caramelized onions, red peppers and prosciutto of “The Bulldog” made the pizza smell, look and taste incredible. “Adam’s Fave” was less flavorful in my opinion, but the vegetarian option is one I will order again.

The breadsticks were fine, but the cheesy bread with red sauce tasted incredible. After that, we got a small order of “Uncle Al’s” Penne Alfredo. It was cooked perfectly and not too rich. For dessert, they served a chocolate chip bread pudding which was visually appealing, filling and delicious.

Overall, the food was great, and I would recommend Byrne’s. Our waitress was efficient and considerate of everything we needed. The service was fantastic. Eating there also supports local businesses.

This is definitely a five-star restaurant!
