Spring Sport Breaks a Record

The school year may end in a month, but the sports aren’t done yet! The spring sports are track, soccer, and football. Track and football are relatively new sports for our school, starting last year. Football is in both flag football along with two-hand touch. Soccer, however, has been an IPS sport for many years, but there has not been enough engagement in the last few years to field an entire middle school team. But this year, soccer engagement is at a record high, with 20 players participating!

Eighth-grader Isaac Waddle is a soccer team member and plays club soccer outside of school. “I enjoy playing soccer for the school, and I’m glad there are enough to make a full team this year,” he said. Waddle believes the team is looking strong and many wins will come.

The middle school track team has had a ton of opening success. Multiple races have already ended with a CFI champion! The elementary season has also started great with multiple medals heading to the Bears. Wish our track team good luck as they prepare to compete in the City Championships on May 6.

It looks like we might need to make a little more room in our trophy case because CFI has better chances than ever of bringing home a championship!
