Starting and running your own business is a really cool thing to do, and we have several young entrepreneurs right here at CFI 84! Let's meet a few.


Alice Bakes Indy

Founded by 7th grader Alice Christie in 2021

What they do: She makes and sells pastries

What makes them different: “I try to make things you won't find at any bakery around town. I personalize my orders, and I want to bring a bright moment to every customer’s day.”

Advice for young entrepreneurs: “Remember to not give up. Keep going and it will all work out in the end.”


Prime Slime

Founded by Chloe Morrison, Kate Winnings, Avery Bellamy, Mae Miller, Logan Yoder, and Carly Quandt, in 2022

What they do: Make and sell slime

What makes them different: Slime that smells good

Advice for young entrepreneurs: ”Keep trying and never give up,” says Chloe Morrison.


Beck Trio

Founded by Nolan Beck and his brothers Andy and Brian in 2022

What they do: String band plays music at weddings

What makes them different: Donate 10% of earnings to Gleaners food bank.

Advice for young entrepreneurs: “Go for it! Tell people about your business, and try to get the word out.”


REM Sowing

Student founder(s): Rosemary Meek

Year founded: 2022

What they do/sell: Homemade zipper pouches

Advice for other young entrepreneurs: If you want to do it do it and if you don't get a lot of business at times just keep going.

What makes them different: Homemade fabrics that can interest everyone
