Summer Bucket List

With school letting out soon there is only one thing to think about…summer! But, what to do? With so many camps, parks and more, which are the best? These are some local activities and camps to try this summer. Challenge: Can you check off the whole bucket list? Tell us on the 84 post website which ones were your favorite.


  • Tarkington Park - 45 W 40th St, Indianapolis, IN 46220

Tarkington Park features a large climbing orb, small and large swings, multiple rock walls, and more. It’s an interactive experience with many tunnels, hills, musical instruments and playscapes. It also features a splash pad, so on really hot days you will have a way to cool off. It is wheelchair accessible, has a public restroom, and allows dogs. While you are there you can also grab tea, smoothies, and desserts at Tea’s Me Cafe.


  • Broad Ripple Family Center - 1426 Broad Ripple Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46220

The new Broad Ripple Family Center features fun for all ages! There is an indoor playground for kids, basketball court and a walking track. There are seating options as well. If you are desperate for some fresh air you can always explore the Broad Ripple Park playground, hiking trails and dog park.


  • Eagle Creek - 7840 W 56th St, Indianapolis, IN 46254

Eagle Creek is an Indy park which features various hiking trails. Each trail lets you see a different landscape; you could even have a scavenger hunt. If you are 4’7 and above you can buy tickets to a Treetop obstacle course called Go Ape. You get to go on various ziplines and obstacle courses. The final zipline is right next to Eagle Creek Reservoir, so you’ll get a great view!


  • Donuts & Dragons - 3838 E 82nd St, Indianapolis, IN 46240

Do you like donuts and board games? If so, Donuts & Dragons is the place for you. Besides homemade donuts daily, they have a ton of board games you can play. Or bring your own. It’s a great place to bring your friends and family for some friendly competition. Be sure to go crazy with your sweet tooth!


  • Holiday Park Camp - 6363 Spring Mill Road, Indianapolis, IN 46260

Holiday Park has lots of different summer camps and outdoor activities you can sign up for. They also have a fun outdoor concert series called Rock the Ruins!


  • White Pines Wilderness Academy Camp - 841 W 53rd street, Indianapolis IN 46208

If you say “yay” to being outdoors then you will like White Pines. You can learn how to survive and navigate through the wilderness. Sometimes during the week you get to go to different parks around White Pines and play games there.


  • Riviera club (Rivi) Camp - 5640 N Illinois street, Indianapolis, IN 46208

I bet a lot of you readers have heard of Riviera where you can swim, play on playgrounds or play tennis. At the camp you can go to all the different parts of Rivi throughout the week.


  • Butler soccer camp - 4600 sunset Ave, Indianapolis IN, 46208

You know the university of Butler right? At Butler soccer camp you get to be coached by Butler athletes and coaches. You are in different groups according to age and gender and have a specific coach that coaches your group. At the end of the week there are different awards that are given to players.
