The Middle Years

When looking back through my years of middle school, I have a ton of good (and funny) memories. So, I asked PYP students what they are looking forward to in MYP.

The 5th graders responded very positively, saying that they thought that their exhibition projects would help them in 8th grade. “I’m also super excited to be able to have lockers. I feel like having one kind of marks you as a real middle schooler,” said Enzo Alney.

Other students said they were more excited about being able to move around to different classes. In PYP, most of your classes are taught by your homeroom teachers so you don’t get to move around as much.

Another popular response about what they’re most excited for was the DC trip in 8th grade. Elliot Haug said he was most excited about 7th grade. “I think I am most looking forward to 7th grade because it’s right in the middle, and I finally can start getting the hang of middle school.”
