Top 5 Field trips

By: Mavis Cropp

Our school has many fun field trips, but which ones are anticipated and enjoyed the most? This is our ultimate field trips list, so you can relive your favorite field trips and await the ones to come!

  1. Washington D.C. this is the trip that all of our middle schoolers await! Some of the highlights of past D.C. trips include visiting the National Mall, going to the Pentagon, stopping by the White House, and spending the weekend in your own hotel room with friends!

  2. JA Biztown is long-awaited for fifth graders. At Biztown, you are placed into a workplace simulation where you are tasked to do the job that you were assigned. The best part: during the day you get a salary that you can then spend however you’d like!

  3. Columbus, Indiana with the second-graders. While touring the city in search of bridges, you also get to visit the Cummins race car museum. This trip definitely is one that second-graders look forward to in the spring.

  4. Feast of the Hunters’ Moon, a historical reenactment of the annual fall festival of the French and the Native Americans at Fort Ouiatenon in West Lafayette. This field trip takes place in fourth grade. There are vendors selling items and food from that time period and musical performances with people dressed in full 18th-century attire. You are allowed to roam around the festival in small groups and do what you please.

  5. Maple syrup farm in Kindergarten. Here, you have the opportunity to drink sap straight from a maple tree, see how maple syrup is made, and make your own syrup. It is a very interesting and interactive experience.
