Top 5 things to do in Indiana

Written by Clara Rosenbarger

For those who aren’t leaving the state for our nine-day Fall Break, Indiana offers plenty of exciting activities.

First, enjoy the beautiful fall nature by hiking one of two popular trails. Mid-October is when the Brown County State Park (1h 17m drive) foliage colors are at their peak, creating a breathtaking panorama of reds, oranges and yellows. Or, for a closer option, choose Holliday Park (7m drive), which offers playgrounds, hiking trails of varying lengths, the White River, as well as many strong trees for climbing

Second, for an educational and fun experience, visit the Children’s Museum — the largest museum in Indiana. With a wide array of exhibits, it appeals to all ages.

Third, explore the Indianapolis Zoo, where visitors can see and interact with animals. ZooBoo also offers many Halloween-themed activities during the fall.

Fourth, check out the movie theaters. Films such as PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie (PG) and Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Unrated) are coming out in October.

Lastly, in preparation for the Halloween season, be sure to visit a pumpkin patch such as Tuttle Orchard (35 min) to make your pumpkin selections.
