Sledding, Tubing & Skating - Oh My!

By: Sanam Shah and Miles Cheney

It’s almost wintertime! With possible snow on its way, there are many activities to do, and we are here to tell you some of the best. The first is sledding. You could sled at Butler, Park Tudor, and many other places. Feeling more adventurous? You could go tubing! Tubing is just like sledding but you’re in a blow-up tube instead. However, the downside of tubing is that you may have to travel further for a better experience. Some places you could go tubing are Koteewi Run in Noblesville, Perfect North Slopes in Lawrenceburg, or Flat Fork Creek Park in Fishers. Another outdoorsy winter activity is ice skating. You could skate at the Carmel Ice Stadium, the Indy Fuel Tank, Lawrence Civic Plaza, or other rinks. If you aren’t interested in those activities, there is more you can do! You and your friends or family could do a gift exchange, which is when you give gifts to everyone. If that's too bland, you could try a white elephant gift exchange, where you pass around impractical gifts to each other. Finally, building snowmen is a classic winter activity that is always fun. When building a snowman, you can build it in your yard. Get the materials, like a carrot, buttons, sticks, and a scarf. Roll up balls of snow on the ground, stack them together, and you have an awesome snowman! And there you have our list of fun winter activities for you to try.

Two happy snowmen
