For our first Great Debate of the new school year, we have decided to ask a simple yet controversial question: cats or dogs? To gather our school’s preferences, we went to each class to take students’ votes. Every class had a majority of dog people, making the number of dog lovers in our school 295. “I like dogs better because they are more energetic and overall just more fun to be around, “ replied Lucy Phillips, who voted for dogs. However, there were many cat lovers who got them into triple digits, making the score 118 votes for cats. “Cats are smaller and not as loud as dogs, and easier to pick up and take care of, which is why I like them the most, “ says cat-lover Nathan Holbrook. So, what do you think? Have dogs rightfully taken the throne of popularity, or should cats have been claimed best cuddly companions?.
